Sugar Glider Playtime

Playing with a sugar glider is very enjoyable.  You will find yourself laughing over all the silly antics they do.  I have had them for years and they never cease to amaze me with the silly things they can come up with.  I hope that insight into various toys and apparatuses will help you to find what your glider will enjoy.

In-Cage Toys

Gliders are nocturnal, so they will be playing through the night while you sleep.  It is very important for you to have various toys to keep these intelligent sweeties busy having fun.  Here are some suggestions:

Wodent Wheel - This is the only ASPCA approved wheel.  ALWAYS give your glider a wheel.  This will be their favorite toy over any other.  We carry them on our site.  Wodent Wheels

Cat Balls & Toys - Crinkle balls or balls with bells, and other small cat toys are great for gliders to play with at the bottom of their cages.  They love them!  They are inexpensive (usually under $1.00) and are available in almost any pet store.

Hiding and Climbing Toys - Gliders love tunnels, playhouses, chains to climb, bridges to cross, hammocks and many other toys.  They love snuggling against the soft fleece and peeking out.  There is nothing more adorable than watching a little pink nose appearing and disappearing while playing. And to watch how acrobatic they are when they climb and jump to another toy is amazing. We make these items which can be found on our site.

Tent time Toys

These I find extremely fun.  These are toys that are interactive between owner and pet glider.  I have found the simplest of things to be the most fun.  A cat toy that is a feather cluster at the end of a wand or string is hysterical to use.  They jump at it, bat it, bite it and even crab (fuss) at it.  If it has a bell, well that's even better!  A peacock feather, ostrich feather or other long feather (I also use feather boas) are extremely fun and gliders just love them.  Finger toys can be a real joy once bonding has taken place.  These are small toys that are placed on the finger tip or on the finger like a ring and has something on it that moves for the glider to chase and play with.  Usually this type of toy will have the owner in fits of laughter within seconds of playing.  We make these items and they can be found on our site.
